Jim’s Mille Lacs Disposal, Inc is family-owned, and locally operated. Milaca and Mille Lacs County is our home, our clients are our neighbors! And, because we care about keeping our community clean, we take pride in serving our customers and providing the best waste removal services in and around Mille Lacs County.

HISTORY OF JIM’S MILLE LACS DISPOSAL, INC

Owner and operator Jim Gerads grew up in Milaca, Minnesota, currently living across the road from his childhood farm. While in high school Jim found work with a local business Wayne Transport, Inc. During his years of working for Wayne, he washed trucks and trailers and moved up to mechanic work soon after. Jim then worked for a local car dealership, North Star Garage, and continued his mechanic work.

Jim missed working on the big trucks and started work with Mille Lacs Disposal, Inc in 1986 for Russ and Betsy Hill. Over the years, while Jim worked for Russ, with his leadership he was able to learn the trade and how to run a business. In the spring of 1994, Jim was asked by Russ if he would be interested in purchasing the business. Jim liked the idea of owning his own business and looked at the challenge with great changes to come to the industry. To this day Russ continues to have interest in the waste business. He comes into the office with articles and ideas that he believes have merit.

When Jim started hauling trash there were no cart tippers to help assist in the dumping of the carts. When Jim purchased the business there were 2 roll-offs and 3 rear load trash trucks. As of today Jim has built a business that beholds 5 roll-off trucks, 7 trash trucks, 1 full automated side loader, 1 recycling truck, and 2 pumper trucks, along with all of the necessary equipment to support the trade; carts, dumpsters, roll-off boxes, compactors, portable toilets, recycling containers, etc…

Superior customer service and the company’s “what can we do to help” over the years are supported by a very loyal and respected customer base.

Today, we service residential, commercial & government accounts across Mille Lacs, Benton, Kanabec, Sherburne, Morrison and Isanti Counties. With a deep commitment to be an active community member we never lose sight of what has allowed us to get here. Surrounded by a talented and committed work force we are excited about the future, bringing back a level of customer service uncommon in this industry.
